High Protein Cottage Cheese Dip

This deliciously whipped and creamy High Protein Cottage Cheese Dip is the perfect appetizer or snack for summer. Made with just a few simple ingredients, it’s packed with over 40 grams of protein per batch and takes less than 5 minutes to prepare. Blended with cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, honey, and chili oil, keep a big batch in the fridge and enjoy it all summer long!

Healthy and High Protein – This dip has over 40 grams of protein, so it actually keeps you full, which is rare for something this tasty. It’s cold, creamy, and super refreshing, which honestly feels perfect when it’s way too hot to even think about cooking.

No Cooking Required – Don’t turn on the oven! Just toss a few ingredients in a blender, and that’s it. No stove, no oven, no stress. It’s one of those recipes you’ll keep coming back to for BBQs, lazy afternoons, or when you need a quick snack that feels a little extra.

Serving – It goes with everything. Scoop it up with pita chips, dunk in some crunchy veggies, or spread it thick on burgers and sandwiches for a little protein upgrade. Honestly, I could eat the whole bowl myself and feel zero guilt.

Ingredients

  • Cottage cheese: I like using 1% cottage cheese for a lighter, lower-fat option, but if you’re after a thicker and creamier texture then go for full-fat cottage cheese
  • Greek Yogurt: Stick with Greek yogurt for this recipe, not regular yogurt. It’s thicker, tangier, and perfect for dipping. My go-to is Oikos High Protein with no added sugar. It’s super smooth and holds up really well in this dip.
  • Chili Oil Crisp: Use whatever chili oil crisp you love, I’m a big fan of Momofuku and Lao Gan Ma Spicy Chilli Crisp in Oil. It adds just the right amount of spice, flavor, and a pop of color that makes the dip feel extra special.
  • Honey: A drizzle of honey mixed with the chili oil balances everything out. It adds just enough sweetness to mellow the tang and spice without overpowering the dip.
  • Seasonings: You’ll need garlic powder, dried parsley, and a pinch of salt.

Serving Suggestions

  • Veggies: You can never go wrong with a colorful mix of fresh vegetables. Slice up cucumbers, carrots, snap peas, bell peppers, or broccoli. If you want them a little softer, blanch the veggies quickly in boiling water, then chill, this way they’ll still have crunch but feel a bit fancier on a platter.
  • Breads and Dippers: Carbs are a must with any dip, and honestly, nothing beats a fresh baguette toasted in a pan with a little butter. It’s simple and so good. You can also serve sliced sourdough, breadsticks, pita chips, or even your favorite crackers.

High Protein Cottage Cheese Dip FAQ

How long does this dip last in the fridge?

This cottage cheese dip will stay fresh for up to 3 days when stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Just give it a quick stir before serving, as some separation is totally normal.

Does the chili oil make the cottage cheese dip really spicy?

The chili oil adds a gentle warmth, but it’s not overly spicy. If you like more heat, feel free to add extra chili oil or toss in some finely chopped jalapeños to turn it up a notch.

Is this dip low fat?

Yes, it can be. Using low-fat cottage cheese and Greek yogurt makes this dip high in protein and relatively low in fat. While the honey and chili oil do add a few extra calories, they also bring amazing flavor and balance. Plus, getting around 40 grams of protein in a dip? That’s pretty incredible.
