Ingredients
- Naan: Any brand of naan will work. To add more flavour choose garlic naans instead of plain!
- Red Pepper jelly: Use a regular red pepper jelly from a bottle and do not omit it. The jelly’s perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess adds to the flavour of the meatballs and fresh ricotta, making it an essential component of the recipe. However, if you cannot find red pepper jelly, you can use regular tomato-based pizza sauce.
- Cheese: For this pizza, I use shredded mozzarella for the base and then add a few dollops of fresh full-fat ricotta on top.
- Meatballs: Before assembling the pizzas, fully cook your favorite frozen meatballs (whether plant-based or meat) in the oven or air fryer.
- Toppings: I added chopped onions, green pepper, jalapenos, basil, chilli flakes and honey. But the toppings are optional and customizable so have some fun! In the past, I have made a few variations with some diced pineapples, pickled jalapenos, and mushrooms.
- Cornmeal: Optional, but sprinkle some cornmeal onto the parchment before laying your naan to get a crisp base.

How To Make Naan Pizzas
To start, preheat your oven to 450℉ (230℃) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Sprinkle some cornmeal onto the parchment. Then, take your naans and spread a layer of red pepper jelly on top. Sprinkle some shredded cheese over the jelly. Add meatballs, onions, peppers, jalapeños, and ricotta. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes and broil for an additional 1 to 2 minutes to make the pizza crispier. Finally, top the pizza with honey, chilli flakes, and fresh basil.

Naan Pizza Variations
Base: Substitute the naan for a tortilla (tip- use high-protein tortilla wraps for a more protein-packed meal)
Sauce: Tomato, barbeceque or alfredo sauce.
Cheeses: Cheddar, fresh mozzarella, goat cheese, feta or parmesan.
Meats: Shredded chicken, pepperoni, salami or prosciutto.
Additional Toppings: pineapple (controversial, but SO good), tomatoes, mushrooms, banana peppers, spinach or olives.

Easy Vegetarian Naan Pizza FAQ
Is cornmeal neccesary?
Nothing ruins a pizza like a soggy base, so after a lot of recipe testing, I found that sprinkling some cornmeal under the naan helps to cripsy up the base. But you can omit the cornmeal if you want!
Why do the meatballs need to be cooked ahead of time?
Naan cooks fast, therefore you need to have the meatballs at least 80% cooked. If you choose to use the protein of your choice, ensure that it is fully cooked before adding it to the naan.
